The Infinite Bridge – Aarhus

Created by Aarhus-based architects Johan Gjøde and Niels Povlsgaard as part of the ARoS exhibition Sculpture by the Sea in 2015, the Infinite Bridge was originally a temporary installation. However, it became so popular that it was made permanent, and visitors could enjoy it annually from April to October. A special opportunity on the bridge is to get married, where Aarhus Municipality offers weddings on the bridge, with the option to choose the location, either on the beach, in the middle of the bridge, or out in the water. The idea behind the bridge has been to re-establish the connection between the city, the bay, and the coast, as it was experienced before World War II when steamships sailed between Riis Skov in the north and Marselisborgskoven in the south. The bridge is accessible from April to October.
